• 5.7-liter V8, next-generation Small Block: A new V8 that steps in for the 5.3-liter, with more power and torque than the engine it succeeds.
• 2.7-liter TurboMax turbocharged four-cylinder: Improved for 2027 with best-in-class standard torque, per Chevrolet, now paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
• Duramax 3.0-liter Turbo-Diesel inline-six: The only diesel in the full-size half-ton class, carried over for 2027.

Additionally, GM Flint Engine Operations in Flint, MI, is one of three plants building these next-generation V8s, alongside sites in New York and Ontario, so part of this powertrain lineup is assembled right in the region.

The redesign gives the 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 a bolder stance and a stronger face. Features include:
